Smoking 40
Years
(There are just too many testimonials to list, so what I did was give a wide variety that would include both physical and emotional issues as well as sever and longstanding ones, like Manfred who smoked for 40 years.)
By Manfred Luck
Dear Gary,
Thank you for this elegant and easy to use tool you've made
so available. I've been using EFT for about 3 years on myself and my
Homeopathic clients with consistently good results. Recently I was reading
about emotional drivers and out of curiosity addressed my pack a day 45 year
long smoking addiction which I quite enjoyed and had no real intention of
giving up.
With muscle testing I got that there was an incident at the
age of 11, a couple of years before I started smoking, where I felt overwhelmed
by my love for my cousin. In my innocence I had tried to express my love in
some way to her and been rebuffed. There was a fair amount of intensity on it
being not OK to have this much feeling which collapsed after a few rounds of
standard EFT.
I remember thinking that I could stop smoking now if I
wanted to ... which I didn't.
A few days later I was doing some work and was just about to
have my morning cigarette and looking forward to it when these 3 dogs came up
to me for pats and loving and we all really got into it and I allowed myself to
express my love for them.
When I stood up a few minutes later the desire to smoke was
gone. Three months since then, there have been no cigarettes and no effort. And
it's OK to have feelings and it's OK to love.
With gratitude,
Manfred

9 Years with Fibromyalgia
By Janet Cole
The EFT is working just great for me, it is night 13 of
falling asleep without the pain of the Invisible Chronic Illness (fibromyalgia)
and this is a phenomenal record for me. Since 1991, the onset of this illness,
I have not had two pain free nights in a row. The tapping has been done whether
there is pain or not. Your inspiration at the Las Vegas Convention and our one
on one consultation was just what the "doctor ordered." You are very
much appreciated and a great big "Thank you."
GC COMMENT: I met Janet at the Las Vegas Conference. She
came as a non-therapist attendee who was interested in learning the energy
therapies for her personal use. During a free moment at the conference she
asked me if I would spend time with her in a session. I consented and we went
up to my room to do some EFT'ing.
She was in nearly constant pain from her Fibromyalgia and
had been tapping sporadically for her specific pains for 3 or 4 weeks prior to
the conference. At best, she would get temporary relief for an hour or two. But
then the pains would come back.
I chose to ignore the pains during our session because, to
me, fibromyalgia (and most other physical ailments) are merely bodily
manifestations (symptoms) of unresolved fear, trauma, rejection, anger, guilt
and other emotional causes. Take care of the emotional causes and the physical
symptoms tend to fade. That's my non-medical opinion, of course, and I have no
way to prove it. Nonetheless, operating under this assumption, I have witnessed
many significant physical reliefs (some were quite stunning) over the years.
Many people are happy that I labor under this "unproven
misperception."
So, in Janet's case, I asked her to pick out an intense
emotional issue from her past. She picked one that was so intense that she
rarely discussed it with anyone. She quickly went to a 10 and had body
sensations at the mere thought of it. To apply EFT with minimal pain, I had her
do the "narrate the movie" technique that I used in the "6 Days
at the VA," videotape (part of our EFT Course).
We did a few rounds of EFT before she began her narration
because just knowing she was going to verbalize the event caused her emotional
intensity. I often do "beginning rounds" such as this to "take
the edge off" of an intense issue. Typically, the beginning rounds start
with something like, "Even though I'm anxious about telling this
story...."
Eventually she was ready to narrate the story (as though it
was a movie) and, as she did so, I had her stop whenever she came to any part
of it that gave her emotional intensity. We stopped several times and tapped on
the various issues that came up. As it turns out, we went through the story 2
or 3 times and each time we found different aspects--different pieces of the
problem--that begged for individual tapping. It took 30 or 40 minutes,
including restful conversation in between rounds, before she was able to tell
the story with relative calm. Even then it wasn't perfect. There were still
some aspects we didn't have time to cover (I had another appointment). However,
it was substantially improved (near zero).
I don't recall checking her fibromyalgia symptoms at the end
of our session but she left knowing substantial emotional headway had been
made. She seemed much lighter.
So, when I received her message (above), I called her to
learn some of the details. Here's what she said.
1. Our session "opened the door" for her and gave
her the means and understanding to work on more of her underlying emotional
issues. She is having some friends (who were also at the conference) help her
as well.
2. As she worked on these issues, her fibromyalgia pains
subsided. She is pain free all day and all night. Occasionally, she will wake
up in the morning with a little stiffness but just "taps it away."
She has some pain if she undergoes a massage because it involves pushing on her
body. Under normal circumstances, however, she says, "I forgot what pain
is about (her words)."
So what happened? How did all this pain relief come about
without medicine, surgery or other conventional methods? To me (and to Janet)
it seems quite obvious. We took aim at the underlying emotional causes and, as
they left, so did the physical pain. Does this mean she is pain free forever?
Who knows? Maybe she needs to tap persistently the rest of her life. Maybe not.
Maybe she has many more emotional issues that are waiting to show up as pain in
her body. Maybe not. These are things we don't know yet.
But whatever happens in the future, one thing is clear.
Addressing Janet's emotional issues with EFT has given her a level of both
emotional and physical relief that she has not experienced for many, many
years. No drugs, injections or side effects, either. Here in EFT Land, this
type of thing happens much too often to call it coincidence.
If you want to review more EFT case histories regarding pain
just enter the word "pain" (without the quotation marks) in our web
site search engine. You will then be presented with many articles on physical
ailments and pain.
These results are beginning to get the attention of other
healing institutions. Psychotherapists are making the main use of EFT for now
but chiropractors, massage therapists and acupuncturists are coming right
along. The sports performance field is just beginning with it and we have a
glimmer of interest from the medical profession. We have a growing number of
MD's using EFT. In fact, we've had more MD's come on board in the past 6 months
than in the previous year and a half.

Watch how Jane Nash guides her depressed client towards
emotional freedom. After applying EFT she says, "Each time I asked him to
return to any of the traumatic memories, he just kept repeating that he
couldn't find it anymore He said, "I know it happened but I can't see it
-- " I can't find it.""
By Jane Nash
Members of my adult class are working their way through the
first EFT DVD course as part of their own personal development program. This
week one of the students came to me and asked to see me privately. He confessed that he had been raped 20 years
previously, when he was 18, by a male colleague. His life was a mess as he had never recovered
from this trauma. He asked me if EFT
would work, and then he put his head on the table and began to weep, as if this
had taken every bit of courage for him to approach me.
We tapped: Even though I am really upset about this… After
one round, he was calm and the tears had stopped. He said he felt much better and surprised
himself with the calmness of his own voice.
He didn’t want to continue tapping at that time but said he would
return.
When he did return, he looked exceptionally unhappy and I
reminded him that he didn’t have to relive the trauma. He spoke of the 15 years of therapy he had
been through since his breakdown; he'd even had electric-shock therapy for his
depression. He’d been on endless antidepressant
pills and was suicidal two years previously.
His breakdown and access to his traumatic memories had happened shortly
after his divorce and his immigration to Australia.
He asked me to tap with him, just in case he got it wrong
and said that he had been rubbing on the sore spot all morning in preparation
for this session with me – just in case it made a difference. So if he had any resistance, it was pretty
much gone by the time he arrived that morning.
I asked him if he wanted to tell me what happened.
He said that when he was 18, he went to a party and got
drunk and couldn’t get home. His
breathing changed and his eyes filled up with tears. His level of intensity was 10 on a scale of 0
to 10. We tapped on the phrase, I
couldn’t get home… and after 2 rounds, his level of intensity was zero out of
10.
He began the story again, getting further this time and
saying that a male colleague drove him home. He stopped when he said, “then he
kissed my genitals.” His level of
intensity was 7 out of 10 and we tapped 3 rounds to go to 3 out of 10. He stayed at this level of intensity and
another aspect had come up – that he couldn’t tell anyone about it. There were several aspects that we tapped on:
I lost my memory … I don’t know what happened … the damage done.
Then the rape stopped being an issue and his fear of pubs
and public places came up. At this point
I was surrogate muscle testing (just learning it) and so felt that his
collarbone and under eye were particularly strong points for this for him and
so we just moved between the two for a few times as this seemed to get a quick
result. The names of these aspects were:
I felt afraid … scared of men … feeling anxious.
GC COMMENT: No problem if you don't know how to surrogate
muscle test. Just tap all the points (it only takes seconds) and the the same
result will occur.
JANE CONTINUES: He went from a level of intensity of 10 out
of 10 each time a new aspect arose and then quickly down to a 3 and then zero
out of 10. For these secondary issues he
seemed to get the biggest response and relief at the collarbone and chin
points.
After about fifteen minutes, the intensity in his manner had
disappeared but I could sense there was still something – so I asked him if he
could try to make himself feel bad. I
asked if he could tell the stories again.
Each time I asked him to return to any of the traumatic
memories, he just kept repeating that he couldn’t find it anymore He said, “I know it happened but I can’t see
it – I can’t find it.”
He was then happy to leave and said, “Really sorry Jane but
to be honest I found the last ten minutes a little bit boring!” I laughed and said that that was quality
evidence that EFT worked!
We then discussed that because he had some memory blocks, he
might have repressed memories surface at another time. I suggested that he ignore the content but to
tap for the emotion attached to them – he was happy to go with this plan of
action.
A week later he didn’t turn up for class. I was worried that other aspects had
surfaced. However, he rang to say that
he was having a bad day. I asked if he
was still dealing with last week’s issues.
He said he was dealing with a current issue - something he was just
disappointed with. I asked how he was
doing with the issue we had worked on.
He said it was gone … "It’s
funny I don’t know why I was so stuck for all those years about it.”
Now, this is a man who had acute agoraphobia because of his
fears … had never gone for a pint in a pub because he was scared of men … had
not been able to stand in a line at a checkout of a supermarket for fear of
people behind him … and who cried at any problem. Now he just has bad days like the rest of
us! I finished the conversation by
suggesting that he tap for his frustration in the present situation and he
said, “I don’t think I need to do that - it’s not that bad!”

Dyslexia Gone
By John Blosse
One of my wife's massage clients named Winston expressed an
interest in EFT and asked me if it would work on a dyslexia problem that had
held him back all his life. I told him that EFT can be used on everything and
he booked a session with me.
During the session I asked him if he could remember a time
when he had been dyslexia-free. He told me he'd always had the problem and had
many fears around reading. I asked him how it would feel to read from a book
right now and he said that he was quite scared but would give it a try. I told
him that when using EFT we don't need to be brave and force our way through the
fear, we can tap to reduce the fear (which was 8 out of 10). We tapped on:
Even though I have this fear of reading…
After one round the fear had gone and Winston was able to
pick up the book and start reading. He began to read but stopped after a
sentence and a half. "The words are moving," he said. He attempted
the word four times but couldn't get it right. He told me he also felt scared.
I said that we would come back to that word later and asked
him if he felt fear anywhere in his body - he said he felt it in his stomach.
We tapped on:
Even though I have this fear in my stomach…
I asked him at what level the fear was at now. He told me it
was much lower, about a 3 on a scale of 0 to 10. I then asked him if he could
remember a specific event in the past when he felt this fear in his stomach. He
told me about a time when he was eight years old and had to read in front of
the class. He had a lot of fear around this event but we cleared it to a zero
using the Movie Technique. He then told me he has been terrified of his dad as
a child and still felt this fear when he was around him. We tapped on specific
events and memories from his past. He told me that he had a BIG secret which
he'd kept inside for over twenty years. He said that he'd never told anyone
about it but trusted me enough to tell me. We went to a zero on that one and
Winston had a big emotional release and cried for some time.
At the end of the session I asked him if he would like to
read from the book again and he jumped at the chance. He read from the
beginning again, past the word he had previously got stuck on and after almost
completing the whole paragraph he announced that he could never remember
reading so well.
Three weeks later I had a call from Winston's partner who
also wanted to book an EFT session with me. I asked her how Winston was and she
said "Oh, he's great. He's reading all the time now - the dyslexia's
completely gone."
